Varun Vastralaya Automation
n8n social media pipeline for family retail store — Telegram → Reels
Social media without a content team
Varun Vastralaya — my family's clothing store in Ranchi — was invisible on Instagram while competitors posted daily. Hiring a content creator wasn't viable. The owner (my father) had a phone and could photograph products. The constraint was hard: the entire pipeline had to work from a phone, require zero technical knowledge, and cost less than ₹2,000 per month.
Context
- Zero budget for agency or content creators
- Owner non-technical — input method must be WhatsApp-simple
- Regional audience in Ranchi — Hinglish outperforms English
- Daily posting cadence required for Instagram algorithm
Our approach
Key decisions
Telegram as the input interface
WhatsApp Business API requires approval and a server. A Telegram bot requires one API key. My father sends a photo — pipeline starts. That's the full UX.
Kling 2.5 for video from still photos
Given a product image, Kling generates a 5-second animated Reel. No video editing, no transitions, no software. A clothing photo becomes a scrollable video.
Ollama for Hinglish captions
Local LLM (zero API cost) generates product-aware captions in Hinglish. "Iss summer mein style bolo bhai 🔥" outperforms generic English copy with the Ranchi audience.
fal.ai for image quality
Product photos taken on a budget phone go through fal.ai upscaling before video generation. Consistent visual quality regardless of camera or lighting.
